Marketing for therapists and counselors in private practice

Fill your caseload (or your clinicians' calendars) with the right clients, without becoming a content creator. Privacy-safe, ethics-aware, and run for you.

Why is marketing a therapy practice different?

Because the people looking for you are often having a hard time, and your ethics board has opinions about how you talk to them. Therapy marketing has to be warm, clear and careful all at once. You can't post client wins, you can't ask for reviews the way a restaurant does, and you probably don't want to dance on Instagram (same).

The good news is that therapy clients search. They type very specific things into Google, like "anxiety therapist near me" or "couples counselor who takes self-pay," and the practices with clear websites and good search visibility get those calls.

Where it usually gets stuck

Directory dependence. Psychology Today profiles help, but you're renting space next to everyone else. Your own website should be doing more of the work.

Unclear specialties. "I work with adults, teens, couples, and families" is true and hard to find. We help you name who you help best so your site ranks for it.

Testimonials and privacy. Most therapists can't use client testimonials at all, and HIPAA applies to how you reply to reviews. We know the guardrails and build trust the safe way.

How we work and what it costs

We start with a $350 consultation, credited toward your first month. Month one is strategy: offers, pricing, positioning and a written plan. Then we run the funnel every month. The essentials is $4,500 a month and full funnel is $6,500 a month. See everything that's included.

Group practices have their own challenge: keeping every clinician's calendar full. Read how to fill your clinicians' calendars and the rules on testimonials, or grab our free HIPAA-safe review responses.

This is for you if

  • You're a therapist, counselor, or group practice owner and you want a steady flow of clients who are actually a fit.

  • You're tired of relying on directories and word of mouth that comes and goes.

  • You know you're supposed to be marketing but every option feels a little icky or a little risky.

  • You'd rather spend your energy on sessions, not on figuring out SEO.

What "full funnel" means

Here's what each part of the funnel looks like for a therapy or counseling practice.

Ad spend, if we run ads, is separate and goes straight to the platforms.

1- Get found

Therapy clients search for very specific things. We research how people look for your specialties and build your site, Google Business Profile and blog so you show up for those searches, including in AI search tools.

2- Get remembered

Most people take a while to reach out. Helpful blog posts and a gentle email list keep you present for the people who aren't ready to book yet, without sharing anything about your clients.

3- Get booked

Specialty pages, clear fees and insurance info, and a contact or intake path that doesn't feel like a tax form. When someone is ready, it should be easy to say yes.

4- Get client retention

Retention in therapy looks different, and we respect that. Think referral partners, clinician pages for group practices, and keeping past clients comfortable coming back when they need you.

What I help with

  • Specialty and clinician pages that rank

  • SEO for therapy and counseling searches in your area

  • Google Business Profile setup and HIPAA-safe review replies

  • Blog posts written for people who are nervous to reach out

  • Email for referral partners and past clients

  • Social content that respects confidentiality

  • Marketing to fill clinician calendars for group practices

What's not included

  • Video production, photography, and content shoots

  • Logo and brand identity design

  • Talking to your clients for you: sales calls, intake, scheduling, support

  • Legal, medical, tax, or compliance advice.

  • Cold, stiff, impersonal relationship. I root for my clients irl.

We're a two-person team that's spent the majority of the last decade helping independent brands grow.

We work with concierge practices, cash-pay NPs, functional and integrative providers, therapists in private practice, wellness coaches, Reiki masters, sound healers, independent wellness practitioners, product and e-commerce brands, self-published authors, coaches, and retreat leaders. The people building something outside the insurance system, or running something private alongside it.

If you're tired of marketing advice that doesn't fit your work or your clients, you're in the right place.

Your marketing will require us to prioritize different parts at different times.

One month the priority might be rebuilding your website structure. The next it might be blog volume, or a custom landing page for your recorded videos, or fixing something dragging down your search visibility.

So, to be clear about what you're buying: your monthly fee pays for us running your funnel. We handle the strategy and implementation and whatever that requires along the way.

Tell me your priorities any time. Remember: you can be as hands on or hands off as you want. We know it takes time to build trust.

How we work together

Month one is strategy. We get clear on your offers, pricing and positioning while I get logged into your accounts. By the end of the month, you have a written plan.

Updates: What went out, what's working, what isn't, and what's next. Sent via email but we can chat about it there or via text or voice note or phone call. Have I emphasized enough yet that we are regular people and not anonymous corporate cubicle people???

Periodic reset. Energy shifts. You know that. I know that. And with that, goals change. Priorities change. We refocus and reprioritize if need be. YOU ARE HUMAN. we get it.

Start to finish, you get us. The people who know your business are the people running your marketing. Sometimes we call in peers to help with custom projects, but we always manage it and take responsibility for the work that is done by them.

Start with a consultation

Every partnership starts here. A paid consultation where we get into your business, tell you straight where the leaks are, and we give you an opportunity to do a vibe check.
